The observation of the present instructions will ensure the desired technical effect and reliable and safety operation of units and rubbing parts.

General instructions for automotive transport
  1. In the presence of fresh molyibdenum or reflon additives in motor oil the efficiency of XADO may fall.
  2. The cermet protective coating is formed on all rubbing surfaces. However, if the mechanism, engine, cylinder-and-piston set conditions are critical (100% wear), the destroyed parts should be replaced.
  3. Prior to each treatment stage warm up the engine to the working temperature.
  4. In order to obtain the maximum effect, use the motor car during the whole period of the treatment in the run-in mode (without overloads).
  5. In order to obtain the maximum effect, upon the cylinder treatment use the motor car for 250 km in the run-in mode (without overloads).
  6. Long storage is recommended at a temperature of maximum 40oC.
  7. Recommemded for use on all new motor cars, assemblies and units.
General instructions for industrial plant and equipment

XADO gels and greases are designed for reconditioning of machines, assemblies and mechanisms in the standard mode of operation through building up of a cermet layer on surfaces of the rubbing pairs. In the process of restoration of metal rubbing joints gain improved anticorrosive, antifriction and antiwearing properties for the rubbing surfaces of the rubbing pairs: As a process medium serves the oil, both synthetic, and mineral, depending on which is standard.

The main types of the industrial plant and equipment, to which XADO-technology can be applied, are:

Compressors

Piston and turbocompressors - for shortening of the pumping time, increased oil pressure, reduced electric power consumption down to 36.7%, stepped up output, reduced vibration, heating, noise.

The compound should be added into the oil pan and lubricator. In the presence of mechanical injures of the surface and the metal wear over 70% the treatment is not expedient.

For restoration of the performance of an air compressor the following procedure is recommended.

  1. Prior to treatment measure the values of the main working characteristics of the air compressor:
    • output;
    • vibration and noise level;
    • electric power consumption;
    • temperature of the assemblies and mechanisms.
  2. For the full treatment of an air compressor per 1 l of base oil take 1.93 ml of 2% XADO-gel.
  3. The compressor treatment is carried out in 3 steps:
    1. At Step I of the treatment introduce 2/3 of the total XADO-gel amount into the compressor crankcase and 1/3 into its lubricator. For this purpose disconnect from the lubricator the inlet tubings and by means of a syringe inject XADO-gel into every port and the lubricator itself (being heated over 40 oC the compouns starts to flow). After the injection re-connect with the lubricator the tubings and put the compressor in operation.
    2. At Steps II and III of the treatment proceed similarly to Step I, keeping minimum intervals of 12-16 h of operation.
    3. After 200-220 h of continuous operation of the compressor from the beginning of Step I the treatment is considered complete. Re-measure the values of the main working characteristics, which are expected to indicate:
      • reduced vibration and noise;
      • reduced electric power consumption;
      • enhanced output.

Note. The treatment must be carried out without changing oil !

Reduction gear drives

Industrial reduction gear drives and transmisions - for strengthening of the working surfaces, making up for the wear on the contact spot up to 1.6 mm, compensation of wear of the gear wheels of the geared sets, extending overhaul periods;

The motor car reducer and transmission gear box (TGB) are treated once. All industrial plant and equipment is treated in three steps, 16 h spaced.

Keep the medium clean and make sure no abrasive impurities, which can damage the working surfaces, enter it.

Nonferrous metals are not built up, but strengthened.

The treatment methods according to XADO-technology for a reduction gear drive of process eqipment involve the following procedure of operation.

  1. Treatable are reduction gear drives, which have no mechanical injuries, with the maximum wear degree of 70%.
  2. Prior to treatment measure the values of the main working characteristics of the reduction drive:
    • vibration and noise level;
    • temperature regime;
    • electric power consumption;
    • hardness and conditions of the contact surface of the mating gear sets.
  3. The full reduction drive treatment is carried out in 3 steps:
    1. In the first step XADO-gel is introduced into the mechanism in the amount of 3.21 ml per 1 l of the base oil, and the mechanism is allowed to operate.
    2. The second and third steps are performed similarly to the first one with the minimum intervals of 12-16 h.
    3. After 350-400 h of continuous operation from the beginning of Step I the treatment is considered complete. Re-measure the values of the main working characteristics, which are expected to indicate:
      • reduced vibration and noise;
      • reduced electric power consumption;
      • increased hardness of the surface of the gear sets;
      • restoration of their geometry.
Hydraulic systems

Hydraulic systems of oil pumps of all types, hydraulic valves and distributors, hydraulic cylinders - for reducing axial vertical and horizontal vibration accelaration, compensation of valve stem wear, correction of overflows in distributors, stepping up pressure, reducing noise.

Bearings

Separately mounted bearings and open gear trains - for taking up backlashes, reducing of end plays, reducing of radial clearances, 10 times extending of service life in an aggressive medium, for example, in a regenerative-type air-heater at Thermoelectric and Hydroelectric Power Plants.

The treatment methods according to XADO-technology for separately mounted bearings involve the following procedure of operation.

  1. Treatable are bearings, which have no mechanical injuries, with the maximum wear degree of 70%.
  2. Quantity and type of XADO-grease depends on the type and wear degree of the bearing.
  3. Prior to treatment carefully wash the bearing to remove old grease and dirt from the races.
  4. Apply XADO-grease onto internal and external races of the bearing. The required amount of the grease depends on the size of the parts.
  5. Upon application of the compound rotate intesively the bearing races for 2-3 min.
  6. Install the bearing into its working assembly and use it in the process mode.
Marking, transportation and storage
  1. XADO-GEL modifier is filled into a tube, provided with an original air-tight package, marked as follows:

    1. name and trademark of the manufacturer;
    2. product symbols;
    3. date issued (month, year);
    4. reference to the regulating document;
    5. amount of modifier, g;
    6. application instructions.

    The modifier can be transported in the shipping packing of the manufacturer - cartons - by all types of transport with the observance of the appropriate precautions ensuring intactness of the articles, laid down for detergents and cosmetics. XADO-GEL should be stored in closed rooms at the maximum temperature of 40 oC.

  2. XADO gels and greases are designed for use both outdoors and in closed rooms in cold and moderate climates:
    1. ambient air temperature from -50 to +50 oC;
    2. process medium temperature up to +1100 oC;
    3. relative air humidity up to 90%.
  3. Use in aggressive media (sea and fresh water, alkaline and acid compositions) is possible if the rubbing pairs are previously treated with the same in normal conditions.
  4. During operation of assemblies XADO gels and greases produce on metal rubbing surfaces layers, which possess highly pronounced anticorrosive properties and enhance tribological characteristics.
The dosages of XADO-gel for industrial applications
(per one liter of the base oil)

Ideally, the quantity of XADO, required to obtain the desired positive effect should be such, as to cause the superfinish operation with final grinding and work-hardening by packing the microrelief recesses to happen. Details.... When addressing a practical matter one should account for the following inevitable losses of XADO:

  • for precipitation, with insufficient agitation of the oil in crankcases, in oil supply tubings;
  • during clearing up of the surface, when some part of XADO along with dirt is catched by filters and settles on the bottom of crankcases and oil tanks.

The practice has produced the notion of "minimum portion (concentration) of XADO per 1 l of oil", which ensures a positive result of the mechanism treatment and accounts for all inevitable losses. As applied to particular mechanisms the following values have been obtained by trials for a single (test) treatment.

In order to restore operational characteristics of the assemblies and mechanisms, as a rule, 2-3 XADO treatments are required.

Safety measures
  1. The modififier refers to low toxic products (4th Class of toxicity), in terms of hazard - to the 4th class of hazard (low hazard substances).
  2. When working with process media, which are fuels and lubricants fire safety rules should be observed, which oertain to working with fuels and lubricants.
  3. Persons, handling XADO-compounds, should wash hands with warm soapy water upon finishing the work.
